DENTON, Texas (8/31/07) Despite a coming out party from freshman Amy Huddleston, the Mean Green was unable to fend off Missouri-Kansas City, falling 3-1 (25-30, 30-27, 24-30, 28-30).

The freshman notched a team season-high 14 kills on 36 attacks to lead North Texas. She also landed a service aces and a pair of blocks.

Heather Maddox moved into 10^th all-time in assists with a season-best 43-assist outing. Maddox now has 682 to her credit.

The home court was all Brooke Engel needed to get her serves back on track. The senior notched five service aces to bring her season total to eight. Engel led the nation with 123 aces in 2006.

The Mean Green returns to action tonight against Texas State at 7 p.m.
