DENTON (8/19/06) The North Texas volleyball team christened the all-new Mean Green Volleyball Center on Saturday afternoon with a win in the fourth-annual Alumni Match.
The Mean Green jumped out to a 12-2 lead on the Alumni and never looked back, taking the first game 30-14.
North Texas cruised to 30-7, 30-17 and 30-17 wins in the following games.
The Alumni roster included former players Kristin Sheppard-Spencer, Amber Clearman, Anne Pope, Andrea Hansel, Heidi Johnson, Heather Hayes, Brianne Fowler, Laura Gomez and Stephanie Connors.

The Mean Green opens its season next week at the Texas State Tournament with matches against Wyoming, USC, UT-Pan American and Texas State. The 2006 home opener against TCU begins on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
