Future Volleyball Player Earns HS All-America

DENTON, Texas – Future North Texas outside hitter Carnae Dillard was named a 2011 PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American, an honor given to the top 150 players in the nation.

Named All-State by the Texas Girls Coaches Association in December, Dillard is one of just 10 Texans on the list of All-Americans. She led her school to its first trip to the UIL State Tournament last fall, and posted 23 kills in the semifinals.

A former high school teammate of North Texas middle blocker Analisse Shannon, Dillard was a member of the 2011-12 Under Armour All-America Watch List, as well as a Prepvolleyball.com “Senior Ace”, which is list of the top 150 seniors in the nation. The TGCA also named Dillard to the 4A-5A East All-Star team.

Dillard joins another former PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American as newcomers to the North Texas roster for 2012 – Hanna Forst. The South Carolina transfer was a three-time All-State honoree in the state of Kansas prior a standout freshman season with the Gamecocks.

North Texas advanced to the Sun Belt Tournament semifinals for the second straight year, and has recorded back-to-back .500 seasons for the first time since 1976 and 1977. Freshman Eboni Godfrey earned Second-Team All-Sun Belt, as well All-Sun Belt Tournament team honors.
