DENTON-North Texas, after dropping set one, stormed back to defeat a tough Florida Atlantic squad in four sets in the North Texas Volleyball Center on Friday night.

"I thought we did a great job of keeping our composure tonight especially after the first set," head coach Andrew Palileo said.

The Mean Green took advantage of an outstanding team performance on defense en route to the victory. North Texas, led by freshman Amanda Chamberlain with six blocks, picked up 11 total team blocks, good for their second highest tally of the season.

"We blocked and defeneded tonight which allowed us some extra swings," Palileo added. "Our team defense carried us tonight, especially since Carnae [Dillard] and Hanna [Forst] both had unusual off nights."

Forst, a senior outside hitter who had been hot of late, was fortunate to fight back for a six kill, fourteen dig performance even while recording a .000 hitting percentage on the night. Dillard, who only hit .186, was still able to pick up 22 kills on an "off" night. Already tied for the NCAA lead heading into tonight's match, she was also just one dig shy of picking up her 17th double-double of the season.

Senior Eboni Godfrey rounded out the outstanding defensive performance with 21 digs, just one shy of a career high set earlier this season at Texas State.

North Texas returns to action on Sunday, looking to extend its winning streak to over two games for the first time since a seven game run back in early September. The Mean Green (14-9, 5-5 C-USA) take on FIU (6-16, 3-6 C-USA) at 1 p.m in the North Texas Volleyball Center.
