Houston Indoor Invitational Next Up for T&F

DENTON, Texas - North Texas track & field is set for its first multi-day event this weekend as it travels to the Houston Indoor Invitational for competition Friday and Saturday at Yeoman Field House on the campus of the University of Houston.

The Mean Green is coming off a solid performance at the J.D. Martin Invitational that saw North Texas win two races and finish in the top-five 29 times.

Sara Dietz will be looking for her third straight week with a win on the year after winning the 800 at the Texas A&M 10-Team Invitational in week one and the mile run last week in Oklahoma. The senior currently leads the Sun Belt in both events.

Joining Dietz with a No. 1 spot on the SBC Performance List is Clinton Collins and Matt Russ.

Collins currently leads the conference in the 200-meter dash, while Russ is first in the mile run and third in the 800-meter run.

The Houston Indoor Invitational will begin for the Mean Green on Friday at 3 p.m. with the women's pole vault.  Action resumes Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with field events and running will begin at 11 a.m.
