Mean Green Tennis Starts Fall Off With a Bang

DENTON, Texas --  North Texas finished the first day of the Mean Green Invitational Friday evening with only one loss to its name.

After taking the first three doubles matches to start the day, North Texas went on a tear through singles, winning every match it played until the last one.

Freshman Carolina Barboza dropped her last match of the afternoon when she fell to Stephen F. Austin's Alice Pacaut, 6-3, 6-2.

Junior transfer Nadia Lee appeared to make the transition from JUCA tennis well as she swept her two singles matches of the day 6-3, 6-2 and 7-6, 6-2.

Overall the Mean Green finished the day 11-1 in singles play for the six athletes that were able to participate.

Day two of the Mean Green Invitational begins Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with doubles play with singles matches to follow.
