Dinuta Named SBC Co-Player of the Week




DENTON, Texas - North Texas tennis senior Paula Dinuta was named the Sun Belt Conference's Women's Co-Player of the Week for her part in three Mean Green victories last week.

Dinuta tore through her final regular season week as a member of the Mean Green, winning both three singles and three doubles matches. 

Singles saw the senior claim a straight set victory over Nikola Matovicova of UTA 7-6, 6-4, before dominating two Sun Belt Conference opponents in Taylor Coffey of Middle Tennessee and Rosaura Ramierez-Vega of Troy,  6-0, 6-2 each.

The native of Pitesti, Romania has now won nine of her last ten singles matches dating back to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over FIU's Gulietta Boha on Feb. 26.

Dinuta teamed up with Irina Paraschiv in doubles and the senior duo failed to lose more than four games in a match, going 3-0.

The award is the second of the season for Dinuta and third of her career.

North Texas will be back in action when it hosts the Sun Belt Conference Championships, April 19-22, at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
