DALLAS (1/7/08) North Texas tennis standout Rachel Wilhelm reached the finals of the Cotton Bowl Classic Tennis Tournament last week at the Brookhaven Country Club.
The Mean Green senior entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed, and picked up wins over competitors from Henderson State, Trinity and LSU.
Tiffany Clifford of Texas A&M topped Wilhelm in the finals 6-1, 6-0.
"I had so much fun playing this tournament,” Wilhelm said. “I have played in it every year along with my mom since I was 13 years old. It is great practice and fun to see all my old friends from juniors that are also now playing in college."
The Mean Green tennis team returns to action later this month at Stephen F. Austin on Jan. 25.
