"This was the most complete match we've played this season," said head coach Sujay Lama. "We looked inspired in doubles and kept the pressure in singles. We competed at a high level throughout the math."

Senior Catalina Cruz and freshman Barabora Vykydalova kicked off the scoring for North Texas when they took down Louisville's Amelia Harris and Stef Villajuan in the No. 1 doubles slot 8-4.

Irina Paraschiv and Amy Joubert sealed the doubles point when they defeated Mandy Brown Jo Ann Van Arerde 8-3.

"This has been a great week for our tennis program," added Lama. "First national ranking and wins over teams we had never beaten before certainly gives us a lot of confidence into our last couple of dual meets."

In singles, sophomore Paula Dinuta extended her personal winning streak to seven matches when she handled the Cardinals' Ashley Irvin in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

Junior Narine Kazarova also extended her personal win streak to five matches with a straight set victory over Gabi Duncan, 6-4, 6-0.
