DALLAS — If you think the unusual winter weather would delay the North Texas tennis team from chasing a win any longer, think again. After an icy conditions postponed the Mean Green's match against No. 17 TCU on Wednesday, snowy conditions have moved the team's match against No. 59 Tulsa on Sunday to indoor courts on the campus of SMU. Play will now begin at 3 p.m. rather than the orginally-scheduled 11 a.m.

Overall, North Texas is just happy to continue its spring season. After a big 4-3 victory at No. 74 Louisville last Saturday, the Mean Green's confidence is growing and the team is raring to get back out on the courts.

"I would like for us to build on our last match," head coach Sujay Lama explained. "We have a little bit of a tail wind behind us right now."

Tulsa is now 8-5 on the season after back-to-back 7-0 wins over Stephen F. Austin and Oral Roberts. The Golden Hurricane plays Saturday night at TCU before heading over to Dallas tomorrow to face the Mean Green. So far, the visitors 0-3 on the road, so that bodes well for the hosts.

"Tulsa is a good opponent and this is a good opportunity for us," Lama said. "It's important for us to get off to a good start."

The Golden Hurricane leads the all-time series 10-2 and has won nine consecutive matches in the last nine seasons against the Mean Green. North Texas won two meetings in a row in 1993 and 1994, but has since been winless against Tulsa; the Mean Green will look to change that Sunday and secure its first winning streak of the season in the process.
