S&D Jumps to Program Best Ranking

DENTON, Texas- North Texas swimming and diving earned a program best ranking in the CollegeSwimming.com / CSCAA Mid-Major Poll, jumping to 7th nationally among mid-major programs. The Mean Green leaping four spots (previously 11th) after a monstrous performance at the Mizzou Invite, bringing home a fourth place finish, a meet record, 10 new school records, and a new Sun Belt Conference All-Time record.

The Mid-Major rankings use an objective point system to compare teams' relative strength in a traditional dual meet lineup as submitted by participating teams. The ranking is available to those institutions that a) are not members of a BCS-AQ conference or Mountain West Conference, or b) provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules. Teams must have submitted entries within the first two polling periods to be eligible for the final ranking.

North Texas trails conference rival Denver (6th) by only 0.06 points in the polls.

Mean Green diving returns to the pool on December 17-18 for the Incarnate Word Invitational.
