DENVER, Colo. (2/14/02) - The North Texas swimming and diving team scored 183 points and is currently in third place after the first day of action at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
Western Kentucky is currently in first place with 257.5 points and New Mexico State scored 250 points to complete the first day in second place. Following North Texas in fourth place is Denver with 165.5 points and Arkansas-Little Rock in fifth with 183 points.
Although North Texas took just one top-three finish through the first six events, it had 10 top-10 finishes. Bethany Pipes captured second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.64 to lead the Mean Green individually.
The second day of events will pick up tomorrow with the prelims beginning at 11 a.m.
