Sophomore Jaime Hosner was honored Wednesday, Jan. 26 as the Sun Belt's Swimmer of the Week. She is the second swimmer for the Mean Green this season to receive such an award.
Hosner has consistently proven herself to be a top performer for the Mean Green this season. This past week UNT hosted a meet against TCU in which Hosner outshined swimmers on both sides of the rope. Hosner set two new school records while placing first in both of her events. In the 1000 freestyle, Hosner swam a time of 10:36.79 leading the field of swimmers by almost 20 seconds. Hosner then continued to set another school record and take the top finish in the 500 freestyle with the time 5:14.13.
Hosner is expected to be a top contender in her events at the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Championships in Little Rock, Ark. The championships take place Feb. 17-19.
