Complete Notes Package

DENTON, Texas (1/18/08) North Texas will return back to the friendly confines of the Pohl Recreation Center for the first time since Oct. 27 when they host the University of Houston this afternoon, followed by Rice University tomorrow at 11 a.m.

UH is 8-3 in dual meets and is coming off a sweep of Puget Sound, Stony Brook and St. Cloud State last week at the Hawaii Relays. Houston leads the all-time series against North Texas 13-0. Following Houston, Rice University will visit the Pohl Recreation Center Saturday morning for a dual-meet.

The Owls, who come into the weekend 7-2, will also be in action tonight taking on SMU in Dallas. Rice has already knocked off Sun Belt foe Florida International and New Mexico State, who beat the Mean Green in a dual-meet last week.

For the third time in her career, Alicia Hale was honored as the Sun Belt Conference Swimmer of the Week following her record-setting performance against New Mexico State. Hale took home first place in every event she competed in against New Mexico State. She finished with a time of 10:34.18 in the 1,000 freestyle beating her closest competitor by nearly 15 seconds.

Looking to pick up valuable points in the diving events, Whitney Tyrone had a career day against New Mexico State last week. The sophomore from Pflugerville tallied career marks in both the one and three-meter dive.  Tyrone finished second in the three-meter dive with a six-dive total of 205.27; five points higher than her previous career best.
