DENTON - North Texas swimming and diving head coach Brendon Bray has released the 2015-16 schedule, a slate that features dual meets against top-tier Texas programs and two teams that participated in the NCAA Championships in March.

In a travel-heavy schedule, the Mean Green slate is highlighted by matchups with many teams that visited Denton last season.

North Texas will have it's first road test when it visits College Station to take on a Texas A&M (Oct. 24) team that finished fourth in the NCAA in 2015. Six days later, the team will take on a Rice (Oct. 30) squad that is coming off a second-place Conference USA finish. Rounding out a group of familiar foes, North Texas will make the short trip to Dallas to visit SMU, a team that also sent swimmers to the collegiate championship meet three months ago.

"We wanted to have a schedule that puts us against great programs," Bray said. "In my opinion, you grow as a team when you race elite athletes and that gives us more confidence going into the conference meet."

Fans hoping to get a glimpse of the Mean Green at home will only have a handful of dates to do so. North Texas opens the season from the Pohl Recreation Center with three annual exhibition events - the alumnae meet, a pentathlon versus UTPB and TCU, and the Green & White intrasquad showdown.

The Mean Green will then host the North Texas Relays (Oct. 2) from the nearby Carroll Aquatic Center in Southlake, Texas, before Incarnate Word and Liberty visit Denton for a double-dual on October 10. TCU comes to town for a January 29 matchup, the only home dual meet for the team after the new year.

Also worth noting, North Texas will once again make a trip to San Diego during the semester break. Bray will visit his old stomping grounds as the Mean Green will compete in a scrimmage with San Diego State and Boise State on January 5 before taking on San Diego in a relay competition four days later.

The season will culminate into the Conference USA Championships, set to take place from February 24 to 27 at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center in Atlanta.
