The Arts

UNT has a long history of educating students and enriching the community through the performing art. In fact, UNT has more graduates working worldwide as performers, designers, composers, artists, arts scholars and arts educators than almost any other university.

Giving opportunities that help UNT remain a leader in the arts

  • UNT's College of Music, perhaps best known for offering the nation's first bachelor's degree in jazz studies, offers more than 50 ensembles and provides specialized studies in performance, composition, music education and music scholarship. Thanks in part to the college's collaborative approach to instruction and its commitment to excellence, UNT music alumni can be found around the globe, in top ensembles, opera companies, universities and schools.

  • UNT's College of Visual Arts and Design students learn firsthand the powerful role creative endeavors play in supporting a thriving and diverse community. As one of the nation's most comprehensive and highly regarded arts schools, CVAD trains more talented artists, designers, art historians and art educators than any other university in the Southwest.
