DENTON, Texas (7/15/10) -- North Texas softball assistant coach Lisa Ferguson was selected to play with a pair of traveling professional women’s fastpitch teams that are touring the country this summer. Ferguson will make her first appearance with the U.S. Professional All-Stars and Dynasty 6 teams on Thursday, July 22 at Big League Dreams Sports Park in Mansfield, Texas.
Ferguson was a four-year letterwinner for the Baylor Bears as a pitcher from 2004-07. She was a part of a Big XII conference championship, a Women’s College World Series appearance and a fifth-place finish nationally. She earned second-team all-conference and second-team NFCA All-Midwest Region honors as a junior and first-team All-Big XII recognition as a senior. As a senior, Ferguson helped lead the Bears to the team’s first conference title and the program’s first appearance in the Women’s College World Series.
Games will take place on Thursday, July 22 at with the U.S. Professional Stars taking on a team of local college all-stars at 6 p.m., followed by the Dynasty 6 game at 8:00 p.m. against a group of coaches from the VTD youth national fastpitch tournaments.

Members of the U.S. Professional All-Stars and Dynasty 6 include some of the top fast-pitch athletes in the world. The players will be accessible to fans throughout the evening to ask questions, sign autographs and take pictures. Fans also are invited to come out early to watch the teams take batting practice, and there will be a special home run derby contest and other surprises as part of the festivities.
