DENTON, Texas (3/16/09) - The University of North Texas softball team will be hosting its second annual Strikeout Cancer game on Tuesday, March 17 versus UTA at 6 p.m.
The game will be held at Lovelace Stadium in Denton and proceeds from the game will go to the American Cancer Society. In lieu of admission, North Texas is asking for donations. Fans can purchase commemorative t-shirts, available in exchange for a cash donation.
For the second straight year, North Texas is hosting two charity games during its spring season. The Mean Green has tabbed the March 17 contest vs. UTA (Strikeout Cancer) and the April 22 game vs. Oklahoma (Play for Kay - Leukemia Society) as the two fundraising games. The team is selling T-shirts for the two games and all proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go to each organization.
