DENTON (1/18/06) - The North Texas softball team began practice this week at the newly opened North Texas Women's Athletic Center. For the first time, the three-year-old program has a place to call home. The Mean Green has afternoon workouts on a practice field, located on the opposite end from the future Mean Green Softball Complex.
The complex is close to completion, and is planned to be ready for the Mean Green's home opener Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Texas State. The student-athletes can walk to either field from their locker room, located in the Mean Green Office Complex and Gymnasium. The Mean Green Softball and Golf Facility is next door and contains the softball coaching offices and batting cages.
