Adventure Trips

Ready for some adventure? These trips provide the opportunity to meet new people, learn life skills and have fun in an outdoor setting. Trip cost covers transportation, instruction, use of equipment and most meals. Trips are open to UNT students, faculty, staff, Rec Center members, and their guests. Beginners to advanced outdoor enthusiasts alike are welcome on all trips! To register, sign up at the Outdoor Pursuits Center in the Pohl Recreation Center by the registration deadline. 

SUMMER 2016 TRIP SCHEDULE

DAY HIKE: CLEAR CREEK NATURAL HERITAGE CENTER, TX
Hike along the trails of the Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center, located right here in Denton County. Trek through the Bois d'arc forest to the wide expanse of the wetlands along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.

DAY CLIMB: LAKE MINERAL WELLS STATE PARK, TX
Learn the basics of outdoor climbing at the park's famous "Penitentiary Hollow" climbing area. The area features top rope climbing opportunities on conglomerate rock for all skill levels!

Ever wanted to canoe? Spend a day with us while we teach the basics of paddling on the beautiful Elm Fork of the Trinity River.
