North Texas Finishes in 9th at Marilynn Smith Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. (10/16/03) -- The North Texas women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational at the Colbert Hills Country Club.

Freshman Tara Lambright led the way for North Texas with a three-round score of 245. Laura Rakel was only two shots behind Lambright with a three-round score of 247 including a first round score of 80.

Sophomore Andra Lancaster struggled in the final day with a 91 after posting the best round of the tournament for a North Texas player in the second round at 76. She finished the tournament with a three-round total of 249.

Kasey Hardin had a three-round score of 257 and Jaclyn Golden shot a 260.

The tournament closes out the fall portion of the schedule for the Mean Green as they gear up for the spring season that begins with the Bobcat Desert Classic March 1-2.
