Three Players In Top-25 After First Round




LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Taylor Kilponen is tied for 10th place while McKenzie Ralston and Chaslyn Chrismer are both in the top-25 after the first round of play to lead the North Texas women's golf team at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate.  

Kilponen, who is playing as an individual, had the best round of the day for North Texas at 1-over par and she is tied for 10th place after the first round. She had four birdies on the day and is four strokes off the lead after the opening round.  It is the best round of golf for Kilponen since shooting a career-low of 72 as a freshman. She has the best score among individuals in the field.

Ralston is tied for 17th place after a 2-over par 74 while Chrismer is one stroke back at 3-over par and tied for 22nd place.

After a double bogey on her first hole, Ralston bounced back to play even par golf the rest of the way. She notched two birdies on the round. Chrismer had one birdie on the day as she shot a 3-over par 75.

Freshman Keegan Moore was 4-over on the day with a first round of 76. Moore played the front and back nine at 2-over par and had one birdie on the day as she is tied for 31st.

Brooke Bailey shot an 8-over par and Georgina Mundy was 9-over in the opening round.

North Texas as a team sits in 11th place after the opening day with a score of 17-over par 305. Idaho has the clubhouse lead after the first day at 2-over par. The second round begins tomorrow morning and live stats can be found at www.golfstat.com.
