Kipp Sun Belt Golfer Of The Month

DENTON, Texas - After her sensational start to the season, junior golfer Kelsey Kipp was named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Month today.  Kipp captured the Rose City Invitational title by tying her career-low round with a 70.

Kipp won a marathon playoff that lasted 12 holes to win the title. She was the low score in the tournament and helped lead North Texas to its second straight tournament title.

In the opening week, Kipp shot a career-low three round score of 5-under par and finished alone in second place. The Mean Green went onto win the NT Fall Classic thanks to Kipp's score.  The individual title is the second of her career. Five of her first six rounds this season have been under-par.

Kipp has the lowest stroke average in the Sun Belt Conference at 71.67, with her nearest competition being more than one stroke higher at 73.00.

North Texas is back in action next week as they look for their third straight win, which would be a first in school history.
