Women's Golf Schedule Released

DENTON, Texas (7/31/12) - North Texas women's golf announced its 2012-13 schedule earlier today, with four events taking place in the fall and six set for the spring.

"We are really excited about the upcoming schedule," said head coach Jeff Mitchell. "It is a big departure from last year, and we have an opportunity to play a very diverse and challenging schedule. We have a much younger squad this year and this schedule will offer a great experience for them. This is another big step in our growth and evolution."

North Texas returns four letterwinners from last year's roster, including junior Chaslyn Chrismer and sophomore McKenzie Ralston.

The Mean Green opens the fall schedule Sept. 22-23 at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. The 2012 side of the schedule also includes stops in Las Vegas and Las Cruces, N.M., before rounding out fall play in San Antonio.

Spring action initiates Feb. 17-18 in New Braunfels, Texas, followed by the Islander Classic Feb. 25-26 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

North Texas will also play in tournaments in Tucson, Ariz., St. George, Utah, and Hot Springs Village, Ark., before ending the season at the SMU Invitational in Dallas.

The Mean Green set a program record following the 2011-12 season with its second-consecutive finish in the top-75 to conclude a season. The effort included two third-place finishes early in the year, and a fourth-place finish at the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
