Mean Green Struggles In The Opening Rounds In Oklahoma




NORMAN, Okla. (4/8/07) It was a difficult opening day for the North Texas women’s golf team at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic as senior Tara Lambright posted the best score of the day with a two-round number of 152. Lambright leads a tightly bunch trio of Mean Green golfers as North Texas is in 16th place after the first two rounds with a score of 614.

 

Lambright shot an opening round of 77 and a second round of 75. The final four North Texas players, all freshmen, were led by Janna Golden who carded a two-round score of 153. One shot behind Golden was fellow freshman Jordan Rose. She opened with a first round of 78 and was two-shots better in the second with a 76.

 

Kelsie Gray shot a 158 and Maggie Noel started nicely with a 77 but faltered in the second round with an 84. Senior Christine Shimon, playing as an individual, had a two-round score of 159.

 

The final round of the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic begins tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
