MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sophomore Eji Kwon opened the season off on the right foot for the North Texas women’s golf team at the Fed-Ex Memphis Intercollegiate. Kwon is alone in seventh place after two rounds of play, just four strokes off the lead.
North Texas as a team is in seventh place after shooting rounds of 308 and 297. Kwon is at 2-over par after 36 holes. She shot an even-par score of 71 in the opening round and then a 73 in the second round and is at 144 for the tournament.
Freshman Devin Edwards rebounded from an opening round of 7-over par to shoot a 1-over par 72 in the second round. Edwards had three birdies and an eagle 3 on the par-5 second hole in her second round. She is tied for 23rd place.
Maraea Durie is tied for 28th place after a two-round score of 153. Durie had three birdies in her second round to go along with an eagle 2 on the par-4 10th hole. Laura DeLeonardis is tied for 48th place with a 158 and Nyca Khaw is in 65th after shooting a 164 over two-rounds. Middle Tennessee has a one-stroke lead over Memphis heading into the final round of play.
