Kwon Fires Career-Low Score For Mean Green

March 16, 2015

ST GEORGE, Utah - Sophomore Eji Kwon surged up the leaderboard after a career low round of 3-under par 69 at the BYU at Entrada Classic. Kwon's career day moved her into a tie for fifth place after 36 holes, only four strokes off the lead heading into the final round. The 69 by Kwon is the lowest score by a Mean Green player since 2013.

"I'm very proud of Eji on a great round of 69 today," said head coach Jeff Mitchell. "To shoot this score on such a challenging course says a lot about how far she has progressed in her career."

Kwon was one of only five players to shoot in the 60's on the day. She had six birdies in her second round, and is 2-under for the tournament at 142.

Laura DeLeonardis is tied for 49th place after shooting scores of 80 and 77. Abbi Shaddix is tied for 52nd, but bounced back in the second-round to shoot a 3-over par 75. Maraea Durie is in 62nd spot after scores of 79 and 82 while Devin Edwards is in 78th place following scores of 82 and 87.

North Texas as a team is tied for 10th place after two-rounds. The Mean Green opened with a 314, but shaved 11 strokes off that score in the second round to post a 303.
