PeopleSoft upgrade for Finance project receives new implementation date and program structure

The PeopleSoft Upgrade for Finance (PUFF) project team recently announced a new implementation date and program structure. The project was originally planned to launch Sept. 1, 2015 has now been rescheduled to March 1, 2016. The new date has been set to ensure effective coordination with other finance initiatives, such as the Chart of Accounts redesign. This additional time will enable a more robust implementation with a deeper focus on process improvement and training.

Campus Wireless project now complete

Thanks to a recent expansion of wireless networking services on campus, students now have twice as many access points for Wi-Fi. IT Shared Services Data Communications in coordination with UNT's University Information Technology recently completed a major expansion of wireless networking services on the UNT Denton main and Discovery Park campuses. When the UNT wireless project started in December 2013 there were approximately 700 access points for students to access Wi-Fi. With the project now complete, there are more than 1,400 access points.

One of the most common techniques that hackers use to gain sensitive information from people is by phishing, which is a fraudulent email attempt to lure people into sharing their personal, financial and other sensitive information. Once the information is shared, the hackers then use that information to gain access to personal accounts.
