DENTON, Texas - North Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette square off in a Sun Belt Conference showdown on Saturday afternoon at Cajun Field. The Mean Green has some momentum heading into the game coming off a 14-point win over Florida Atlantic to even its league mark while the Ragin Cajuns are the hottest team in the league having won five straight games.

Kickoff is set for 4:08 p.m. from Cajun field and the game can be seen on ESPN3.com. North Texas can pull closer to the top of the SBC standings with a win while the Cajuns are looking to become Bowl eligible with a victory.

The last two meetings between North Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette have both been decided in the final minute of the game. Last year in Denton, North Texas scored a touchdown with 31 seconds to play in the game but missed the game-tying extra point and lost 28-27.

The Mean Green scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to get within a point of sending the game to overtime. In 2009, it was the Ragin' Cajuns who scored 14 unanswered in the final quarter to come back for at 38-34 win. In that game, Louisiana-Lafayette scored a touchdown with just 27 second left to play to earn the come-from-behind victory.

North Texas running back Lance Dunbar is close to entering uncharted territory. Dunbar has 3,589 yards rushing and 958 yards receiving for his career. With 42 more receiving yards he will become only the 25th player in NCAA history to top 3,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving.

The Ragin Cajuns have beaten North Texas four straight times, but the last two wins have been by a combined five points. Louisiana-Lafayette won by four points in 2009 and by one-point last season.

Punter Will Atterberry is third in the nation with 16 punts this season downed inside the 20 yard line.

North Texas scored 24 points in the third quarter of the win over Florida Atlantic, the most points in a quarter by the Mean Green since scoring 28 points against Navy in the second quarter in 2007.
