DENTON (9/17/05) - The North Texas football team (1-0, 1-0) hosts its first home game against Tulsa (0-2, 0-0). North Texas tied Boise State for the nation’s longest conference winning streak at 26 games with the win at Middle Tennessee. The Mean Green has won four straight Sun Belt Conference championships and played in four straight bowl games. Tulsa has opened the season with losses to Minnesota and Oklahoma.
North Texas and Tulsa have met 19 times, including 17 times when the two teams were conference rivals in the Missouri Valley Conference. Tulsa holds a 13-6 advantage in the series, but the teams are tied a 4-4 at Fouts Field.
