DENTON, Texas - A week after the opening of Apogee Stadium, North Texas returns to the road for its toughest challenge of the season as it faces No. 2 Alabama at Bryant Denny Stadium Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox Sports South and ESPN3.com while also being heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.

North Texas has a history of playing some of the top-ranked teams in the nation and this week's matchup with No. 2 Alabama is no exception.

This will be the 11th top-10 opponent that the Mean Green has faced in the last 11 years and the eighth team to rank in the top five in that time. In fact, 2010 was the only year that North Texas didn't face a top 10 opponent since 2000.

This will be the 36th game for North Texas against a team from the SEC. The Mean Green has a record of 3-32 against teams from the SEC. The last win for North Texas over an SEC team came in 1975 against Tennessee. That day the Hayden Fry led Mean Green pulled a 21- 14 shocker over the Volunteers on the road.

Brelan Chancellor, after another record breaking performance against Houston, now leads the nation in all-purpose yards after the first two weeks. Chancellor is averaging 297 all-purpose yards a game.

He is averaging 28.4 yards a kick-return, which ranks 23rd in the nation after two games. Chancellor was named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

Lance Dunbar has been held under 100-yards rushing for the first two games of the season. Since taking over the starting role in 2009, Dunbar has never been held under 100-yards for three straight games.

The game can be seen on Fox Sports South and Fox Sports Plus in Texas and Oklahoma as well as ESPN3.
