North Texas fell to Samford 67-53 at the UAB Thanksgiving Classic Friday evening.
Samford (4-1) controlled the pace for a majority of the game, and got the Mean Green (2-4) into foul trouble early in the second half. The Bulldogs took 31 shots from the charity stripe converting on 25.

Denetra Kellum led North Texas is scoring with 15 followed closely by Niq'ky Hughes with 12. Kellum also had a career and game best seven rebounds to go along with a career best seven steals.
Samford's Emily London led all scorers with 17, including a 12-for-13 night from the line.
North Texas committed only 16 turnovers in the loss, a season low for the Mean Green while collecting 12 steals, which is one short of the season high against George Washington.
The Mean Green return to the court Saturday afternoon at the UAB Thanksgiving Classic to face-off with the host, UAB at 3 p.m.
