Alexis Hyder had her 10th double-double of the season, setting a freshman record at North Texas. She scored a career-high 25 points and had 12 rebounds, three blocks and three assists.
Hyder had one of her double-doubles against ULL earlier this year, posting 16 rebounds and 14 points in a win at Lafayette.
This was the Mean Green's third overtime game of the season, but their first since a 72-71 win over St. Bonaventure on November 24.
North Texas's last Sun Belt overtime game was a loss to Middle Tennessee in 2005.
This was the first double-overtime game in the Sun Belt Tournament since 2009, when UALR defeated Denver. It was the third double-overtime game in league tournament history.
