DENTON, Texas - Come out to the Super Pit on Thursday night for North Texas Basketball Madness! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m.
The event features DJ Gio, free food and drinks from several local restaurants, a step show, dance groups, the UNT Drumline and more.
Fans will be treated to scrimmages from both Mean Green teams, a celebrity free throw contest, a 3-point showdown and a dunk contest that features defending champion Jordan Williams, who defeated Tony Mitchell in 2012 in front of 3,000 Mean Green faithful.
Laura McCoy won last year's 3-point contest with a swish from near mid-court.
An autograph session with both squads follows the event at 9 p.m.
Thursday will also be your first chance to check out the newest upgrades at the Super Pit, including the video board, new sound system and shot clocks. NT is expected to unveil a new court for its season opener on Nov. 8 against Northwood.
