Mitchell was named head coach of the North Texas women's basketball team on April 9, 2015. Between moving back to Denton, getting to know the team and beginning to operate the Mean Green program, Mitchell will be very busy early on in her tenure. We want to give fans an in-depth look at her #First44 days on the job in the form of a 44-part series that will run from April 10-May 23.



Jalie Mitchell was back in front of the camera on Tuesday. Representatives from ntTV and Denton Community TV were able to meet with the new head coach in her office to spend a few minutes talking about the new job.

"I used to be the one leading interviewers to the head coach's office, but now I'm the one people are coming to interview," she said. "That will take some getting used to, but I had a lot of fun with the video crew."

It was actually the first time Mitchell had been in her office in about a week, waiting for it to air out after a fresh new paint job. The walls are currently bare and Mitchell is planning on organizing and decorating the new digs in due time. But for now, she says, there is more pressing work to be done.
