EL PASO, Texas - North Texas women's basketball will face the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech in the first round of the C-USA tournament on Tuesday, March 11, at 6 p.m. central time in the Memorial Gym at UTEP.
Led by a deep class of seniors, the Mean Green will look to make noise and advance in a league tournament for the first time since 2012, when it beat Troy in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
Overall, the Mean Green is 5-3 in first round appearances in conference tournaments.
Offensively, North Texas will turn to sophomore Alexis Hyder, who has been hot of late for the Mean Green. The Austin, Texas, native is averaging 15.1 points per game over the last seven contests and scored a season-high 23 points in the season finale against Southern Miss.
Coach Petersen's squad has also had six two-game losing streaks including the one it is on currently. All six times, the Mean Green bounced back and won the third game.
