Postgame Quotes

HEAD COACH JOHNNY JONES

“I thought our guys gave great effort today, especially with both Wooden (Keith) and Dennis (Collin) out of the lineup with injuries.  We were not patient in the first half and rushed some things.  We were much more patient in the second half and the end result was 60 percent shooting from the field. I give Hartford a great deal of credit, they came in here and played very well.  They have outstanding shooters and they threw some different looks at us defensively,”

Post Play

We were a little short-handed without Wooden, and then we lost both Stewart (Harold) and Hogans (Kedrick) to fouls. Quincy Williams and Justin Howerton held down the middle for us before we went with a smaller lineup.

On the hot shooting

We have guys who are capable of shooting the ball well.  Dez Willingham shot the ball very well from behind the arc.  Ben Bell scored in a variety of ways.  He knocked down some three pointers and was eight of 10 from the field.  Our freshmen once again played well also. Josh White continued to shoot the ball well as did Tristan Thompson.  I thought Kedrick Hogans played well also.  He picked up some fouls early but did well while he was in,”

Injured Players

We should get both Keith Wooded and Collin Dennis back for our next game against Southern on December 17.  Wooden is recovering from knee surgery while Dennis has been bothered by an ankle injury.
