DENTON, Texas – Can’t wait to see Laura McCoy, Tony Mitchell and the Mean Green hoops teams in November? Come be a part of the free North Texas Basketball Madness on Oct. 15 at the Super Pit at 7 p.m.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the first 300 students will be allowed to stand courtside for all of the action, which includes a DJ, dunk contest, drum line and scrimmages featuring the Mean Green men and women’s basketball teams. The event is free and is open to the public.
Local restaurants from around Denton will provide free food and drinks, and the event will feature several contests, including a half-court shot that could win free books for a lucky student. Local and University celebrities will take part in a free-throw showdown, and the men’s and women’s teams will compete against each other in a 3-point contest.
Afterwards, meet new head coaches Mike Petersen and Tony Benford, and pick up autographs from all of your favorite Mean Green players.
