WKU Game Moved To Accomodate ESPN Broadcast

DENTON, Texas - The North Texas men's basketball game at Western Kentucky originally slated for Jan. 8 has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. on Feb. 12 to accommodate a national television broadcast.

The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2 in a showdown of the teams responsible for the last four Sun Belt Conference titles. The Mean Green is the Sun Belt's reigning West Division and Tournament champion, and also won the 2007 SBC Tournament. WKU won in 2008 and 2009.

"The changes in schedule and travel arrangements certainly aren't ideal, but we look forward to the challenge and the exposure that the game creates," said North Texas head coach Johnny Jones.

North Texas is coming off a school record 24 wins and its second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons. The Mean Green returns four of its five starters, including a trio of All-Sun Belt performers.

NT will open the 2010-11 season at home against Henderson State on Nov. 12 before taking on Texas Tech at the Super Pit on Nov. 16.
