DENTON (6/20/07) - The North Texas men's basketball team already cut down the nets from its magical run to the NCAA Tournament. Now it's time for the jewelry, as the Mean Green's Sun Belt Championship rings were delivered to the Super Pit today.
"These rings are a great way for us to celebrate such an outstanding season, while at the same time keeping us focused on what we can accomplish in the future," said Mean Green head coach Johnny Jones.
The rings, designed and crafted by Balfour, commemorate the Mean Green's school-record 23-11 mark, highlighted by its first ever Sun Belt Championship and its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1988.
