ARLINGTON, Texas (4/27/10) - North Texas head basketball coach Johnny Jones celebrated another trip to the NCAA Tournament by tossing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Texas Rangers game Tuesday night.
Jones led the Mean Green to its second Sun Belt Conference title and NCAA berth of the last four years, and broke the school record for wins for the second time as well.
Hall of Famer Gary Pettis (right), the current Rangers first-base coach, caught Jones' pitch, and offered him congratulations afterwards. Texas went on to beat the Chicago White Sox, 4-2.
