GAME NOTES / QUOTES

 

  • On Senior Night, senior forward Quincy Williams registered his team-leading fifth double-double effort of the season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
  • It was Williams’s second consecutive double-double effort, coming three nights after he racked up 17 points and 12 rebounds at Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday.
  • Williams’s 10 rebounds raises his career total to 659 and leaves him alone at No. 9 all-time at NT.
  • Junior Collin Dennis led four NT players in double figures and two with 20-plus games. Dennis ended with 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including 6-of-7 from three-point range. It was Dennis’s 17th double-figure game of the season and his team-leading 7th game to score 20 or more points in a game.
  • In two games against Arkansas State this season, Dennis has combined for 54 points, shooting 16-of-29 from the floor and connecting on 10-of-13 from three-point range.
  • In Dennis’ last three games, he’s now combined to hit 12-of-19 from three-point distance.
  • Dennis’ 6 made three-pointers are a new career high for him, surpassing his previous best of 4 which had done three times.
  • The win gives NT a four-game win streak, which ties its longest win streak of the season. The Mean Green opened the season with three consecutive victories.
  • Senior Keith Wooden also had a big night on Senior Night, scoring 15 points to record the 11th double digit scoring night of the season.
  • Wooden also ended with two steals, a season-high for him and matching his career best, which he’s now done three times in his career.
  • Freshman Josh White, the other NT player to score more than 20 points, ended up with 23 points in the win.  It was his team-leading 19th double-figure scoring game this season.
  • White connected on 11-of-14 attempts at the free throw line, giving him career highs in both FTs and FTAs.
  • As a team, the Mean Green connected on 9-of-14 three-pointers for a .643 percentage, which ties for fourth-best in school history.
  • NT has now won three straight against the Indians.
  • NT’s win improves the Mean Green to 14-3 at the Super Pit this season, tying for the most ever wins in the arena.
  • Junior Harold Stewart had a blocked shot in the first half, raising his career total to 54 and placing him alone at No. 7 all-time at NT.
