The North Texas men's basketball team looks for a sweep on the road tonight when it faces New Orleans. North Texas snapped a two-game skid when it defeated New Orleans 66-60 on Thursday in the first of back-to-back road games. The Mean Green also improved to 3-1 on the road in Sun Belt Conference games and moved into a tie for third place in the West Division with the Privateers at 3-3. South Alabama will be the second consecutive West Division opponent for the Mean Green, which is 2-1 so far against teams in its own division. North Texas is now 10-7 on the season and holds its best record through 17 games since 1994-95 when it was 11-6. Junior center Jeffrey Simpson put together his best string of games this season in the last three outings. Simpson posted 12 points and eight rebounds against Arkansas State before coming back to record 16 points and nine rebounds, both season highs, against Arkansas State in his fi rst start of the year. In NT’s last game, Simpson scored 12 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked six shots for the second time this year.
