NORTH TEXAS TEAM NOTES:

  • North Texas made a season-high 15 three-point field goals, which is also the fourth most in school history for a single game.
  • The Mean Green finished with 20 assists, its second most of the season.
  • The last time North Texas was 12-6 or better through 18 games was 1994-95.
  • North Texas improved to 5-2 in SBC play, tying its best record ever in the league through seven games.  No North Texas team has ever been 6-2 or better through eight SBC games.
  • North Texas improved to 10-3 on the season when taking 60 or more shots.
  • North Texas is 10-2 at the Super Pit, its best record at the arena through 12 games since 1990-91.  NT’s 10 home victories ties the third most ever by a North Texas team at the Super Pit.  The school record for home victories in a single season is 14, set twice.  NT has won 10 home games two times in five years under head coach Johnny Jones.
  • North Texas improved to 10-1 this season when scoring 80 or more points in a game and to 33-7 all-time under head coach Johnny Jones when it does so.
  • North Texas had at least three players score in double figures for the 15th time this season.
  • The Mean Green improved to 8-1 this season when outrebounding its opponent.  NT won the battle on the boards 50-33, including a 15-10 advantage on the offensive glass.

NORTH TEXAS PLAYER/COACHES NOTES

  • This was the first game this season that North Texas had four players hit two or more three-point field goals.  They did so in the first half when Calvin Watson led with three and Lionel Brown, Kendrick Davis and Isaac Hines each connected on two.
  • Kendrick Davis hit a career-high six three-point field goals, which also ties the 10th most in school history.
  • Davis finished the game with a career-high 27 points, which is the most by a North Texas player this year.  His 27 points are also the most by any NT player since Calvin Watson scored 28 at UTPA last season (Dec. 11).  Davis has scored at least 20 points in nine of 18 games.
  • Jeffrey Simpson recorded a career-tying 11 rebounds for the second time this season.  His performance marked the fourth time this year a Mean Green player has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in a game (Simpson and Williams, both twice).
  • With two blocks, Simpson moved into fourth on the single-season blocks list with 41.
  • Isaac Hines scored in double figures for the fifth consecutive game, finishing with 11 points.  He has scored in double figures seven times on the year.
  • Lionel Brown and Kendrick Davis both tied their season high for assists with five each, while Isaac Hines finished with a season-high six assists.
  • Lionel Brown scored in double figures for the sixth time this season.
  • Calvin Watson moved into 10th place all-time at North Texas for career three-point field goals made with 96.  He had three in the game.
