Game Notes

DENTON, Texas - ULM owns a 27-20 edge in the all-time series with North Texas, but the Mean Green has a stranglehold on the Warhawks over the last few years. NT has won the last seven meetings with ULM, including all three games last season.

In fact, there isn't a player on the NT roster that has ever lost to ULM. The average margin of victory over this 7-game span is 13.9 points, and includes a 72-40 win which was ULM's largest ever margin of defeat at Fant Ewing Coliseum. The last time ULM bested NT was on Feb. 10, 2007 (66-62).

Fred Brown leads the Warhawks with 13.6 points per game on 38.3 percent shooting from 3-point. He also leads ULM with 2.7 assists per game. Hugh Mingo (11.7), Tommie Sykes (11.6) and Lawrence Gilbert (11.3) are also averaging double-figures for ULM.

ULM picked up its first road win and first Sun Belt victory of the year against South Alabama on Saturday, 67-65. Fred Brown tied his career high with 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting. Brown hit his fourth 3-pointer of the night with 2 minutes remaining to give ULM an insurmountable 66-63 lead. USA had the ball last, but turned it over as time expired.

Josh White and Tristan Thompson are not only the winningest players in NT history - 78 total victories - but can now lay claim to the highest scoring duo as well. The seniors have combined to rack up 2,850 points, which is more than any other NT teammates who played their entire collegiate careers together. White and Thompson passed Fred Mitchell and Melvin Davis (2,844 from 1975-78).

George Odufuwa, who ranks 18th in the nation with 10.2 boards per game, ranks 22nd in Sun Belt Conference history with 737 career rebounds. At his current average the senior could challenge for a top 10 spot by the end of the regular season. White is only 155 points shy of the SBC's scoring top 25.
