GAME NOTES

 

  • The 22-point loss (83-61) was the worst UNT loss in Sun Belt Conference play since Feb. 11, 2006, when the Mean Green suffered a 26-point road loss at Western Kentucky.
  • The loss was the Mean Green’s worst conference loss at home since a 31-point loss (89-58) to Louisiana-Lafayette at the Super Pit on Jan. 30, 2003.
  • New Orleans has now defeated UNT in their last five meetings.
  • The loss was the first home defeat of the season for the Mean Green. UNT is now 9-1 at the Super Pit this season.
  • Senior forward Quincy Williams finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds to record his team-leading third double-double of the season. It is the 11th double-double performance of his career.
  • Williams’s 14 points marked his ninth time this season to score in double figures.
  • Williams’s 12 rebounds were the fourth time this season he’s grabbed double figure rebounds and the 17th double-figure rebounding game of his career.
  • Junior transfer guard Collin Dennis led the Mean Green with 17 points and has scored in double figures in 11 of 15 he’s played this season.
  • The Mean Green ended with seven three-point field goals in the game, extending a streak of 553 consecutive games dating back to 1987-88 in which they’ve scored at least one three-point FG.
  • UNT’s 20 turnovers tied for the second highest total the Mean Green have committed this season.
  • The Mean Green shot just .327 percent (17-of-52) from the floor, the lowest shooting percentage for a game this season. In two of their previous three games, the Mean Green has shot over 50% from the floor.
  • Transfer guard Dez Willingham also finished with double figure points (14), registering his fifth game this season to reach double digits.
