MONROE, La.- Tristan Thompson set a career-high with 30 points to help the North Texas men's basketball squad to a 79-62 victory over ULM at Fant-Ewing Coliseum on Thursday night. The Mean Green have now won eight straight games against ULM.

Thompson scored 30 points in his first start since January 5th at Middle Tennessee, surpassing his previous career-high of 29 points, set earlier this year against UT Arlington. He becomes the second North Texas player to score 30+ this year, after Josh White accomplished the feat on November 16 against Texas Tech. Thompson went 10-12 from the field and 5-6 from beyond the arc.

The Mean Green started the game on an 8-0 run, powered largely by Thompson, who had 13 of North Texas' first 18 points. North Texas rode the strong start to a 34-28 advantage at halftime. The Mean Green would lead the entire second half en route to their 15th victory of the season.

Kedrick Hogans moved up to 5th place on North Texas' career block list with two blocks tonight and 71 for his career, which moved him past Shawnson Johnson's career 69 blocks. Hogans reached double figures in points for the seventh time this season, with 13 points on the evening.

George Odufuwa posted his 13th double-figure scoring outing of the year, going 5-8 from the field to score 11 points. Dominique Johnson added 10 points of his own, going a perfect 4-4 from the field for his 12th double-figure night of the season.

The Mean Green shot 57.4% on the night, the ninth time this season that North Texas has made at least half of their shots from the floor. North Texas is 9-0 this season when shooting 50% or better from the field.

On the defensive side, North Texas held ULM to 42.6% shooting from the field. The Mean Green have won all 15 games this season when holding its opponent to a field goal percentage under 48.0%.

The Mean Green are now 15-4 on the season and 4-2 in league play, while the Warhawks fall to 6-14 on the year and 1-5 in the Sun Belt.

North Texas returns home to the Super Pit on Saturday, January 22 at 7 p.m. to face Arkansas State, with television coverage TXA 21 in Dallas-Fort Worth.
