DENTON - The 2015-16 Mean Green men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced for the first time at the Super Pit Thursday, Oct. 22, in the fourth annual North Texas Basketball Madness.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with free food and drinks from several local restaurants, a step show, drumline, as well as intra-squad scrimmages from both basketball teams, a three-point showdown and the highly anticipated dunk contest.
In 2014, the three-point contest was won by seniors Kasiney Williams and Todd Eaglin after going 11-for-20 from beyond the arc. In last year's dunk contest, sophomore Jeremy Combs took the crown after completing an alley-oop off the side of the backboard in the final round. Combs will face strong competition from three high-rising newcomers to the Mean Green in 2015.
Be sure to stick around afterwards for autographs from both squads at 9 p.m.
