Mean Green Completes TV Schedule With ASN Games

DENTON – The North Texas men’s basketball team finalized its 2015-16 television schedule with the addition of seven games that will air on the American Sports Network (ASN), which is shown in DFW on TXA-21, as well as dozens of stations across the country.

With the addition of the seven ASN games, the Mean Green will now have eight games on national TV this season. North Texas opens the 2015-16 season on Nov. 13 in a doubleheader with the women’s basketball team against Jarvis Christian at 7:30 p.m. For tickets or more information please contact the North Texas Ticket Office.

ASN is an initiative of the Sinclair Networks Group, LLC, which owns and operates, programs and provides sales services to 164 television stations in 79 markets, reaching approximately 43 million U.S. television households. It includes FOX, ABC, CBS, MyTV, CW, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates. ASN, which launched in August 2014, produced 250 college events in nine sports in its first year and plans to air more than 375 events in the 2015-16 academic year.

Forty-three of the 65 games will be conference match-ups, including the first three rounds of the 2016 C-USA Men’s Basketball Championship that begins March 8 in Birmingham, Alabama. ASN will also carry 10 games from the Women’s Basketball Championship, in addition to five regular-season women’s games.
