Last season’s runner up for Conference USA Freshman of the Year has enjoyed another breakout season turning away the critics of a sophomore slump.

Combs, a sophomore team captain from Dallas, has elevated his game leading the team in scoring (15.6) and rebounding (10.6). He is one of two players in the C-USA to be averaging a double-double this season and has recorded eight double-doubles in league play.

The nation is also taking notice as Combs is 15th in the country in rebounds per game (10.6) and 13th in total rebounds (264). He recently had a stretch of seven-straight games with a double-double and has exploded with a team high 36 dunks this season.

But after all the stats there is still the man who always plays with a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove the doubters wrong that he is undersized.
